The Stickball Set and the Handmade Ball (Towa) is a project that I have been working on for some time. It has been a few years now.
I released a set a few year's back and I was contacted by a few people from the native community about some inaccuracies in my initial iteration. I want to thank Brenner Billy, and Clovis Hamilton, both of whom are talented stick makers, for their help in the adjustments I have employed. I also want to thank Boomer for teaching em how to make the special ball used for this game. Making sticks has always been a way for me to learn about the culture, as well as the craft.
Stickball dates back hundreds of years and is an integral part of Choctaw life. The first non-native documentation of the game came from the Jesuit Priest's accounts of the game in the early 1700'ds. These reports likely came from what is now southern Mississippi. For more information on the game, you can contact http://www.choctaw.org.
I want to be clear that this set does NOT come with a ball. It is offered at a discount if you buy the full set.
Everything here is hand made in my woodshop, so I need a few days to process things.
** Engravings will add additional time. Likely 48 to 72 hours. I encourage you to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
I offer expedited shipping options, but please know that these items need to process before they ship. Everything here is hand made in my woodshop. Expedited shipping will not affect the processing time. Feel free to shoot me a call if you have any questions on timing and the like.
I am happy to work things out with you.
The Post Office (flat rate shipping) moves its packages over the weekend and UPS does not. So please keep this in mind as you select your shipping and counting your days. USPS states that their shipping will take 2 to 3 days but it may come a day sooner or a day later. I will ship them on time, but please keep your eye on the tracking information I send you.
