Welcome everyone to the woodshop. Today, I want to show you guys a project I made for the United Way. What’s going on, everybody? I’m Justin Skaggs, lead stick maker over here at WoodLacrosseSticks.com, and I got contacted by a customer who needed a stick ASAP as a special “thank you” to one of the people who volunteer their time the most at the charitable drive for United We Walk. Now, that’s located in Cincinnati, Ohio, and it is a charity walk that raises money for the United Way.

My customer, who is also named Justin (great name!) hit me up and he wanted to give a special “thank you” to a guy named Kruz, who never asks for any money and always has donated his time year after year. This is a special thank-you to him and was a very satisfying project because I am obsessed with Chuck Taylors and there are four Chuck Taylors right here within the organization’s logo.
Now, my only regret with this project is that I didn’t have a bit more time, because, on their logo, each of these Chuck Taylors has its own individual color. Seeing as how I’ve been doing color inlays, it would have been awesome to be able to take the time to insert the corresponding red, yellow, blue and green colors to the shoes. But, we just didn’t have the time and had to get it out before the charity walk itself. Overall, this was a very interesting project to work on, and if you want more information about the United Way, we’ll give you a few links in the below:
